Marine Hotel in Ballycastle awarded AA four-star status after rescue from dereliction

The Marine Hotel in Ballycastle, which was rescued from dereliction 11 years ago, has been awarded four-star status by the AA, recognising its hospitality, service, cleanliness, and amenities.

This accolade followed a “mystery inspection” conducted during the summer after the hotel refurbished its bedrooms the previous year.

Co-owner Claire Hunter expressed pride in the team’s commitment to exceptional service and improvement of guest experiences, noting the hard work that led to the recognition.

The hotel is now awaiting a four-star inspection from Tourism NI and has submitted plans for expansion, including additional restaurant space, new bedrooms, and self-catering holiday accommodation suites.
