The Irish forecourt retailer Maxol has announced a major €2.6m investment to completely rebuild and upgrade its service station in Dooradoyle, County Limerick, and this project is part of the company’s plan to modernise its stores across Ireland. The upgrades will turn the site into a top-tier destination for fuel, food, and shopping. The main building will grow by 50pc in size and a brand new Burger King restaurant will open inside the station.
The store will feature the popular Dunnes Stores Simply Better food range, making this the first Maxol site in Munster to offer these premium products. The indoor seating area will expand by 40pc and the location will get a brand new Maxol Market Deli for fresh daily food options. Construction work began on-site in June and the revamp is scheduled to finish by November. The service station will remain under the leadership of local store licensees Kieran and Siobhan O’Shea.
The redevelopment represents a significant investment in the Dooradoyle area and demonstrates Maxol’s commitment to improving customer experience across its network. The expansion of food offerings and seating capacity responds to changing consumer preferences for convenience retail with enhanced dining options.
Maxol shared in a written statement: “Customers will benefit from improved food options and facilities as part of the company’s nationwide upgrade programme.”
