
Shane Treacy has been appointed new general manager of Muckross House in Killarney.
Mr Treacy has a strong background in hospitality management, previously serving as managing director of The Murray Group in Dublin.
His career includes leadership roles in hospitality operations across global cities such as Dubai, Singapore, London, and New York, as well as managing celebrated venues in Dublin.
Chairperson Bernadette Randles believes Shane’s expertise will enhance visitor experiences and support the preservation of Muckross House’s heritage.
Shane’s management team will include various department heads, each responsible for areas such as finance, research, traditional farming, and crafts, aiming to lead Muckross into a promising new phase of operations.
The management team will include Denis Reidy (financial controller), Patricia O’Hare (research library), Toddy Doyle (traditional farms), Colin Baker (Garden Restaurant), Paul Morgan (craft centre retail), John Cahill (Mucros Weaving), Paul Curtis (bookbindery) and Margaret Phelan (pottery).
