Mein Schiff 7 was named by godmother Fenia Kalachani in Kiel Bay, culminating in a drone show and fireworks display against the backdrop of Kiel, visible to visitors of Kiel Week and Mein Schiff fans.
CEO Wybcke Meier opened the official naming ceremony on the pool deck, with a performance by dancer and choreographer Chris Cross, a drone show, and a concert by Ben Zucker.
Godmother Fenia Kalachani, an environmental officer on the Mein Schiff fleet, wore a specially designed gown for the occasion and broke a champagne bottle to christen Mein Schiff 7.
Mein Schiff 7 will offer cruises between Norway and Kiel, followed by Baltic Sea cruises and winter cruises around the Canary Islands, with bookings available through TUI Cruises.
The 2,894-guest vessel is the first built by the shipyard with methanol capability
The shipyard and TUI Cruises were represented by their respective CEOs and Head of Projects at the official signing ceremony
The Mein Schiff 7 is the seventh ship in the Mein Schiff series built by Meyer Turku and runs on low-emission marine diesel with the capability to run on CO2-neutral green methanol.
