Michael O’Leary endorsed the Fine Gael party for the upcoming Irish general election at a campaign launch yesterday.
Speaking at the launch of the campaign for outgoing industry minister Peter Burke, on the second day of the election run-in to polling day on November 29,, the Ryanair CEO also called for transfers to go to Fianna Fáil in an unscripted speech which also included a comment about teachers destined to go viral: ‘the Dáil is full of teachers I love teachers, I have four children, but I wouldn’t employ a lot of teachers to get things done.’
While Mr. O’Leary comes from a Fine Gael family background and has previously expressed his support for the party, this is the first time that he has openly endorsed them .
At a recent press conference he called on voters not to vote for the green party because of their obstructive approach, to aviation and tourism.
