Investigations continue into the crash of a Gazpromavia Sukhoi Superjet 100 in Russia on 12th July, during a post-maintenance test flight, killing all three crew members on board.

The aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff from Lukhovitsy Airfield, impacting the ground amidst a forest near Apraksino/Kolomna.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing the aircraft fall and explode upon impact. It is the third air disaster involving a Sukhoi Superjet 100 since 2012.

Initial reports suggest the aircraft may have suffered an engine failure, leading to an investigation by Russia’s Transport Prosecution Office and Rosaviatsia.
