MSC Group’s Cruise Division inaugurated the MSC Barcelona Terminal during the first call of Explora II, attended by notable officials and MSC executives.
The new terminal represents over 40 years of partnership between MSC Group and Barcelona, showcasing an investment in modern port infrastructure and sustainable tourism.
Designed by Ricardo Bofill Taller de Arquitectura, the terminal includes retail areas, waiting lounges, and a VIP lounge, all with environmentally sustainable features.
The terminal is certified with Gold LEED for energy efficiency and will implement shore-to-ship power connectivity by 2027 to reduce emissions during docking.
In summer 2025, MSC Cruises plans to operate five ships from the terminal, with regular calls from the Explora II.
