
MSC Cruises made history with its ship, the MSC Poesia, sailing the Amazon River for the first time as part of the company’s 2024 world cruise
The ship entered the Amazon on March 9, offering scenic cruising through the Amazon Forest before reaching Manaus on March 13, then continuing to Alter do Chão and Belém in the Pará state
The MSC Poesia also made technical stops in Fazendinha, Amapá, during the itinerary, marking the company’s first voyage to Brazil’s North Region
The 2,550-guest vessel’s global voyage covers 52 destinations in 31 countries and territories, with visits to South America followed by the Caribbean before concluding in Germany, and during the 2023-24 winter season, six MSC Cruises ships, including the MSC Seaview, MSC Preziosa, MSC Musica, MSC Lirica, MSC Armonia, and the MSC Grandiosa, served the Brazilian and South American markets.
