Norwegian Cruise Line is recognising the growing popularity of solo travel by adding 1,000 dedicated solo cabins, or staterooms, across their fleet of 19 ships.
By introducing new solo stateroom categories like Solo Inside, Solo Oceanview, and Solo Balcony, Norwegian say they are offering solo travellers more choices and the opportunity to enjoy their journey at a lower cost compared to traditional double occupancy rooms.
Solo stateroom guests will have access to the exclusive Studio Lounge, providing a dedicated space for relaxation and a bar, adds an extra touch of luxury for solo travellers.

Solo staterooms, smaller than the norm, were first introduced with the launch of Norwegian Epic in 2010 when a new courted cabin design was utilised by the cruise operator.
A study by Travelport suggests that solo travel accounted for nearly 18pc of global bookings in the travel industry. NCL CEO Harry Sommer told Travel Extra at a ship launch in 2016 that solo travel was the tail wind that would drive the future of new to cruise bookings.
