Ohio’s Attorney General, Dave Yost has filed a lawsuit against Boeing, claiming safety issues harmed the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System and the State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio, evidencing a pattern of compliance failures.
Yost argued that Boeing’s board members, including former CEO Dave Calhoun, failed to properly oversee safety measures and address whistleblower concerns, threatening both lives and shareholder financial security.
The lawsuit seeks to compel improved safety oversight within Boeing, highlighting the potential damage to relationships with regulators and the public due to lapses in safety functions.
Boeing recently reported a $6.2bn loss in the third quarter, faces ongoing labor strikes, and is dealing with the fallout from an incident involving a disintegrated satellite.
