On its way: Icon of the Seas finishes final adjustments and heads for Miami

Icon of the Seas has installed 10,000 natural plants in its Central Park area in advance of its first paying guests in late January.

The LNG-powered vessel departed Cádiz on December 23 and visited Algeciras before heading to North America.

Central Park on the Icon of the Seas underwent final adjustments in Cádiz. it is described as “lushier and livelier” than previous Oasis Class vessels, with 20pc more plants.

Technical work, including updates and repairs, was also done while the ship was in drydock.

The Icon of the Seas will spend its inaugural season in the Caribbean and the Bahamas, offering week-long cruises to popular destinations and visiting Royal Caribbean’s private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay.
