Paddy McKillen Jr has reduced the asking price of Loftus Hall from €4.5m to €3m, attracting interest from wellness resort operators.

The property, known for its ghostly reputation, was acquired for €1.75m in 2022 and has undergone extensive restoration with plans for a luxurious hotel.

Loftus Hall was originally built in 1870, with its history traced back to Redmond Hall established in 1350 and has had multiple uses including a convent and hotel.

Mr McKillen Jr is nearing the completion of phase one, which includes 22 bedrooms, a new bar and restaurant, and restoration of the roof and façade.

Future plans include an additional 56-bedroom hotel wing, a spa, wedding venues, and eco pods scattered across the grounds.

The house has featrued in “most haunted’ TV programmes. The widely promulgated story of Lady Anne Tottenham and how, while playing cards there, she discovered the man she is playing with has cloven feet, may have been put out by her father to keep the locals away and to stop them from discovering that Anne was pregnant.
