
Killybegs Fishery Harbour Centre in County Donegal has been granted over €5 million in funding.
The funding will be used for various capital projects at the facility, including tourism projects and the Smooth Point Pier Extension.
This latest allocation brings the total investment in Killybegs since 2020 to €32.5 million, with projects such as the Southern Quay Extension, Energy Saving Measures, Water Control Measures, and others also receiving funding.
Killybegs in increasingly seen as a cruise ship stop option on Britain and Ireland itineraries. In 2023 there were 29 Cruise Ships visits and t10 maiden visits this year.
The Fishery Harbour Centres accommodate diverse marine commercial businesses, including commercial cargo traffic, cruise liners, restaurants, and other leisure, tourism, and social activities.
