Plans for two new hotels in Kilkenny City have been appealed to An Bord Pleanála, including a seven-story Dean Hotel near MacDonagh Train Station and a proposed 136-bedroom hotel on Hebron Road/N10 in Blanchfieldsland.

The Dean Hotel project by Dean Hotel Group involves a prominent location near MacDonagh Train Station, with amenities like a restaurant, bar, gym, function room, and outdoor terraces, if approved by An Bord Pleanála, making it the fourth Dean Hotel in Ireland.

The second hotel project on Hebron Road/N10 entails transforming the former Hebron House into a hotel and leisure complex, incorporating a mix of refurbished and new hotel structures, with facilities such as a swimming pool, conference center, and landscaped parkland.

Both hotel developments have received planning permission with conditions from Kilkenny County Council, and decisions from An Bord Pleanála are expected by July 29, 2024, following the appeals process.
