Plans have been lodged in Waterford to develop a seven-storey hotel with a penthouse suite in Dungarvan, including the demolition of the existing Bridge House building.

The project would feature a range of amenities, such as function halls, 42 hotel bedrooms, 42 aparthotel rooms, and a penthouse suite with balconies and terrace areas.

The development also includes provisions for car parking, landscaping, cycling facilities, and signage. A flood risk assessment report has been carried out, stating that no expected flooding will occur on the site for design rainfall events up to the 100-year return period.

The decision from Waterford County and City Council is expected by January 24, 2024, with a submission deadline of January 3.
