Ponant plans to embark on an Arctic expedition in 2024 to Earth’s northernmost point.

This will be the first-ever voyage along the transarctic maritime route, covering the Bering Strait, Svalbard, and the Beaufort Sea to reach both the Magnetic and Geographic North Poles, with Le Commandant Charcot tracing the path of explorer Umberto Nobile.

Alban Michon and Cindy Miller Hopkins will lead the 21-day expedition, accompanied by a team of approximately 20 scientists specializing in various fields. Le Commandant Charcot will function as a floating research centre with laboratories, a meteorological station, and a helipad for research and scouting purposes, allowing guests to actively participate in scientific investigations.
