Whitbread has announced plans to construct a new Premier Inn hotel at Belfast International Airport, strategically located near the terminal and existing car park facilities. The 81-room hotel will feature next evolution style rooms which were unveiled last year.
The hotel will feature 81 Next Evolution Style rooms, an on-site restaurant and bar, landscaped grounds, and a total of 125 parking spaces, including mobility-impaired spaces.
Construction is set to begin this year, with the hotel expected to open by mid-2026. Whitbread launched Premier Inn in Ireland in 2018 when it acquired a development site in Dublin city centre and now operates 14 Premier Inn hotels in Ireland, five in Dublin, three in Belfast and one each in Bangor, Carrickfergus, Coleraine, Derry and Lisburn and employs more than 200 people across the country. Premier Inn applied for 162-room hotel in Sandyford Business Park and announced a new target of 5,000 hotel bedrooms in Ireland.

Jill Anderson, acquisition manager for Whitbread, shared: “Securing such a prime location at Belfast International Airport reinforces our commitment to growing our network in key travel hubs across the UK and Ireland.
“The site offers an exceptional opportunity to serve the airport’s six million passengers annually, providing them with the quality, comfort, and affordability Premier Inn is known for.
“The Belfast acquisition is the third airport hotel we have signed in six months, reflecting the consistently strong and growing demand for travel and the excellent investment opportunities these locations offer.”
