
Qatar Airways has filed countersuit against GTLK Europe SPV a Dublin based and Russian owned top-tier global leasing company offeirng aviation and maritime leasing solutions worldwide.
GTLK Europe and GTLK Europe Capital, units of JSC STLC, Russia’s largest leasing business, had 70 aircraft and 19 sea vessels on their books at the time of the invasion of Ukraine.
Recently, a court in Russia has confirmed a move to stop Irish liquidators seizing 37 aircraft belonging to GTLK Europe DAC and GTLK Europe Capital DAC.
The liquidators are taking legal action against their parent company, the Joint Stock Company State Transport Leasing Company.
The parent company is attempting to register itself as the legal owner of 37 aircraft that liquidators claim belong to the liquidated firms.
The liquidation of GTLK Europe DAC and GTLK Europe Capital DAC was initiated earlier this year following allegations from four creditors claiming a debt of over €162.5m.
