Rent pressure zones on agenda as Self Catering Federation prepares for annual meeting

Rent pressure zones and their impact on short term letting will be on the agenda as the Irish self catering Federation holds its annual meeting at Liffey Valley today.

Keynote speakers will be Fiona Campbell of  ASSC Scotland and Voktorija Molnar of EHHA Brussels.

The first in person conference in 2019 will have a lot to discuss, including: 

  • National and EU Issues: The conference will address both national and EU-level legislative matters related to the self-catering industry. With speakers from Brussels, Scotland, and Ireland, attendees will gain insights into the legislation affecting this sector.
  • Management and Quality Assurance: Running a successful self-catering business requires effective management practices. The conference will emphasize the importance of quality assurance and provide guidance on how to operate and manage a self-catering business effectively.
  • Sustainability and Market Segmentation: Sustainability is a significant focus in the tourism industry, and the conference will showcase local heroes who have successfully incorporated sustainable practices into their self-catering businesses. These individuals will share their stories and inspire attendees with their approaches to sustainable tourism.
  • Future of Tourism: A discussion with representatives from the Irish Tourism Industry Confederation (ITIC) will shed light on their vision for tourism in the next five years, specifically as it relates to self-catering accommodations. The future of tourism will be explored in terms of trends, challenges, and opportunities for the industry.

The conference will feature an award ceremony recognizing outstanding businesses in six categories: luxury, heritage, family friendly, pet friendly, sustainability, and best self-catering business.
