Ian McGuinness, CEO of Roganstown Hotel & Country Club in north county Dublin, has said planning hurdles are restricting further development of the property.
The hotel recently completed a €1m enhancement focused on sustainability but faces challenges due to local planners refusing permission for housing units on the 350-acre site, which affects the viability of the project.
McGuinness emphasized that the lack of housing approvals is vital for funding future expansion, including adding more hotel rooms and improving viability.
With 20 years in business and an annual turnover of €5m, he says the hotel is hampered by slow and restrictive planning processes that complicate its development plans.
