Royal Caribbean takes delivery of the new Star of the Seas in Turku

Royal Caribbean International has taken delivery of the new Star of the Seas from Meyer Turku, marking the second Icon-class ship built for the company.

The ship is set to begin year-round cruising from Port Canaveral starting in mid-July 2025.

Royal CEO Jason Liberty described the delivery as a bold step forward in reimagining vacation experiences, focusing on innovation and exceptional service.

Casimir Lindholm, CEO of Meyer Turku commented on the record time and high quality in completing the ship, highlighting its status as the largest industrial product ever built in Finland.

The ship represents an important milestone in the maritime industry’s transition towards greener technologies and sustainable practices.
