
The Star of the Seas departed from the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland on July 17, 2025, ahead of its maiden cruise season starting in August. This 250,800-ton LNG-powered vessel has reached Cádiz, Spain, for supply and maintenance before continuing to another European shipyard for final touch-ups.
The ship’s inaugural seven-night cruise is scheduled for August 31, 2025, visiting destinations in Mexico, Honduras, and the Bahamas, including Royal Caribbean’s Perfect Day at CocoCay. In addition to the inaugural cruise, the Star of the Seas will offer four preview cruises sailing roundtrip from Port Canaveral, featuring visits to Perfect Day at CocoCay.
Travel Extra will be amongst a group fo select international media reviewing the ship on a pre cruise on August 13.
Royal Caribbean will receive the third ship in the Icon Class in 2026, Legend of the Seas, which will sail in the Mediterranean before moving to the Caribbean.

Royal Caribbean shared, “The Star of the Seas is set to offer week-long cruises from Port Canaveral on a year-round basis. Following the Star of the Seas, Royal Caribbean takes delivery of the new Legend of the Seas in 2026.”
