Ryanair has a contingency plan with Boeing for B737-8-200s if the B737-10 does not receive certification by the end of 2025, Michael O’Leary said in the margins of the A4E Aviation Summit in Brussels.
O’Leary said that Ryanair is set to receive 25 new aircraft between August and October 2025, late for the summer, and anticipates receiving fifteen B737-10 aircraft in 2027.
The airline is facing a shortfall of 30 jets for the upcoming summer season, with orders for 34 B737-8-200s and 150 B737-10s still unfulfilled.
Ryanair operates a fleet of 395 B737-800s, along with various other aircraft types through its mainline operations and subsidiaries including Buzz and Malta Air.
