Amsterdam Schiphol is set to invest €6bn over five years to overhaul its disjointed airport design, aiming for an improved passenger experience.

An overarching design vision will guide renovations, focusing on simplicity and consistency to unify the airport’s appearance.

The airport’s current terminal, mainly from the 1960s, will undergo significant renovations, including a new baggage basement and the delayed Pier A set to open in 2027.

Recent expansions, such as the Lounge 1 redevelopment, reflect Schiphol’s commitment to enhancing passenger spaces and creating a cohesive environment.
