- Due to overcapacity and viability concerns.
- Routes served by Aurigny Air Services.
- Followed public consultation and evidence.
- No appeal planned, tickets cancelling after January 15.
The States of Guernsey ‘s Transport Licensing Authority has provisionally denied licences to Loganair for connecting Guernsey with Jersey and Southampton due to overcapacity concerns. Both routes are served by Aurigny Air Services. Loganair operates from Glasgow International.
The decision followed submitted information and public consultation. Evidence indicated strong competition could render routes unviable long-term for operators. Loganair began serving Guernsey after Blue Islands’ bankruptcy in mid-November 2025.
Loganair does not plan to appeal and started cancelling tickets for interisland travel after January 15. The airline hopes to serve Guernsey in the future. Aurigny holds permanent licences for the routes.
Provisional denial of licences for Guernsey-Jersey and Guernsey-Southampton.
John Gallop shared “In reaching this decision, the Authority considered a wide array of submitted information and representations received as part of a public consultation process. Evidence suggested strong competition on these routes would likely lead to it being unviable for all operators in the longer term.”
Loganair shared “We are not surprised at this outcome; however, we remain resolutely of the belief that Loganair should play a part in serving the Channel Islands community beyond our base in Jersey. We are disappointed not to be able to serve the Guernsey community, with outbound and inbound flight opportunities that are complementary to our extensive network.”
