Bertie Ahern will open the annual Sean Mac Diarmada Summer School will be held in Kiltyclogher, County Leitrim, over the June Bank Holiday weekend on May 31 and June 1, 2024 focusing on the theme of navigating Ireland’s political establishment through global economic and social crisis.
The event, now in its 16th year, aims to bring insight and academic research to the historical figure of Sean Mac Diarmada and the 1916 Easter Rising while also exploring contemporary social, economic, political, and public interest topics.
Prominent figures like Bertie Ahern, Frank Feighan, Martin Kenny, Marian Harkin, and Senator Niall Blaney will be presenting at the event, which can be attended in person or online, with interest from Dubai, Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand, and Seattle, Washington.
