Irish sea ports say they have contingency plans in place to manage traffic if unprepared trucks arrive under new post-Brexit rules starting from next week, January 31, 2024.

The new requirements include customs declarations, pre-notification of agri-food exports, and the possibility of needing an Export Health Certificate.

Businesses, importers, and hauliers must ensure their staff are aware of their roles in implementing the changes for goods bound for Britain.

The changes do not affect goods from the six counties or Irish goods processed there before being sent to Britain.
