SEVEN cities TEN matches: The Lions are Australia bound

It is estimated that 20,000 fans will travel with the British and Irish Linos to Australia in 2025, half of them from Ireland. The tour will feature a ten-match schedule across Australia:. 

  • Dublin, Ireland Stadium: Aviva Stadium. Yes, It starts at home. A match against Argentina on June 20, 2025, the Lions’ first-ever match in Ireland, serves as a warm-up for the tour. 
  • Perth, Optus Stadium vs Western Force, June 28, 2025, Optus Stadium is a modern, multi-purpose venue with a capacity of around 60,000, known for its excellent facilities and fan experience.
  • Brisbane, Suncorp Stadium Matches: vs Queensland Reds, July 2, 2025 vs Australia (First Test), July 19, 2025, Suncorp Stadium, with a capacity of approximately 52,500, is a premier rugby and soccer venue in Brisbane, known for its vibrant atmosphere. 
  • Sydney, Allianz Stadium vs New South Wales Waratahs, July 5, 2025, Allianz Stadium, recently redeveloped, has a capacity of around 42,500 and is a key venue for rugby in Sydney. 
  • Canberra, GIO Stadium vs ACT Brumbies, July 9, 2025, GIO Stadium, with a capacity of about 25,000, is the home of the ACT Brumbies and offers an intimate rugby experience. 
  • Adelaide, Adelaide Oval vs AUNZ Invitational XV, July 12, 2025, Adelaide Oval, primarily known for cricket, has a capacity of around 53,500 and is hosting a rugby match for the Lions for the first time in 137 years. Melbourne, Australia Stadiums: Marvel Stadium: vs First Nations and Pasifika XV, July 22, 2025 
  • Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG): vs Australia (Second Test), July 26, 2025, Marvel Stadium, with a capacity of around 56,000, is a multi-purpose venue that replaced a planned match against the disbanded Melbourne Rebels. The MCG, an iconic venue with a capacity of approximately 100,000, is one of the world’s largest stadiums and a historic site for Australian sports. It where Ronnie Delany won the famous 1,500 metres gold medal at the 1056 Olympics and one of the suites is named fro Dublin GAA and Aussie Rules star Jim Stynes. 
  • Sydney (Second Venue) Stadium: Accor Stadium vs Australia (Third Test), August 2, 2025, Accor Stadium, with a capacity of around 83,500, is a major venue for rugby, soccer, and concerts, known for hosting high-profile events like the 2000 Olympics.
