The SH Minerva is welcoming guests for its first expedition cruise after nearly three years laid up. The vessel rejoined Swan Hellenic’s fleet and sailed from Buenos Aires for a 17-night trip to Antarctica.
A traditional ceremony held in Montevideo marked the ship’s new beginning. The ship offered expeditions to the Antarctic Peninsula, South Georgia and the Falklands from Ushuaia.
After Antarctica, the SH Minerva debuted in the Asia-Pacific with cultural cruises to Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, the Philippines and Japan in April and May 2026.
Swan Hellenic shared “the gesture was aimed at marking the ‘ship’s new beginning’ in a symbolic way.”
