Shannon Airport has launched the first Changing Places toilet facility in County Clare to promote inclusive travel.

This fully operational facility in the Departures area assists those with complex care needs during their airport journey.

The airport is part of the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower initiative to support individuals living with non-visible disabilities in Ireland.

Shannon Airport received recognition from the World Health Organisation as one of only two airports with Age-Friendly Airport status in 2022.

Niall Kearns, Shannon Airport Director, shared: “Whether it’s through infrastructure like our new Changing Places Toilet or specialist training our team receives, we’re continually expanding our accessibility services to help make travel easier, more comfortable, and more inclusive for everyone.”
