Click&Go Holidays has reported a notable surge in cruise holiday demand for 2026, with overall cruise bookings growing 20pc year-on-year. This growth is part of a broader trend where the Irish cruise market is expected to reach 65,000 holidaymakers by 2026, up from 43,000 in 2022.

The rise in popularity is attributed to several key factors identified by Click&Go Holidays:

Stable Pricing: Despite high demand, the average cost for a fly-cruise holiday has remained steady at €1,475 per person, which has encouraged early bookings. While couples still make up the majority of bookings (71pc), family cruise interest is the fastest-growing segment, increasing by 30pc year-on-year.

The Mediterranean remains the dominant choice, accounting for 70pc of 2026 bookings. Other popular routes include the Caribbean (15pc), Norwegian Fjords (8pc), and Alaska (5pc).

Flexible Payment Options: High interest is also driven by low deposit options (€1 per person) and monthly payment plans, which 66pc of surveyed respondents indicated they would use.

Peak travel months for 2026 are already shaping up to be April, May, June, July, and September, reflecting strong demand for both summer and shoulder seasons.
