Six German tour operators are currently exploring Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands, hosted by Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland, to strengthen partnerships and tourism offerings.

The visit aims to familiarise the operators with Ireland’s tourism attractions, as this is an opportune time to influence their 2025 travel programs.

Their itinerary includes diverse experiences such as Experience Gaelic Games, cycling with Ballymahon Greenway Cycles, a cooking experience at Cloughan Farm & Cookery School, a tour of The Shed Distillery, a guided boat tour and a tour of Clough Oughter Castle with the Cavan Adventure Centre, visits to the Maria Edgeworth Centre and Tullamore D.E.W. Distillery Experience and a short cruise on the River Shannon with Silverline Cruises.

Nadine Lehmann, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Germany, said: “working with the travel trade remains an important element of Tourism Ireland’s promotional activity in Germany and we were delighted to invite these leading German tour operators – who bring valuable tourists to our island – to visit Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands. Our aim is to encourage them to extend the Ireland content of their programmes, helping to secure a greater share of their business for Ireland in 2025 and beyond.”
