Sligo is hosting 60 golf tour operators from 15 countries at the Ireland Golf Convention, to promote Ireland’s golf sector. The event, organised by Fáilte Ireland and IAGTO, includes a contracting workshop with 1,800 opportunities to secure future business.

Delegates will experience the North West’s golf courses and hospitality through familiarisation trips along the Wild Atlantic Way.

Golf tourism contributes over €300m annually to Ireland’s economy, with golfers spending significantly more than average tourists. The convention aims to leverage Ireland’s hosting of the Ryder Cup in September 2027 to boost golf tourism.

Martin Donnelly shared: “The Ireland Golf Convention is a unique opportunity to showcase the very best of Irish golf to a global audience. The golf tourism sector is worth over €300m to the economy each year and golf visitors to Ireland spend over two and a half times the average leisure visitor, making these golfers highly sought after clients for Ireland.”
