Disney Cruise Line has commenced construction of its fourth Wish class ship with a steel-cutting ceremony at Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany.

Joe Schott, along with Philip Gennotte and Bernd Eikens, participated in cutting the first steel piece for the new vessel, expected to arrive in 2027. The new ship, as yet unnamed, like its sister vessels, will weigh about 144,000 gross tons and accommodate 4,000 guests while being powered by LNG.

The expansion plan includes four new Disney Cruise Line ships by 2031, with two ships, Disney Destiny and Disney Adventure, launching in 2025.

On August 9, the Disney Destiny will float out from the shipyard, marking its initial movement before its debut scheduled for November.
