The steel cutting ceremony has taken place for the Carnival Festivale at Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany.
The ship will be Carnival’s fourth Excel class vessel, accommodating up to 6,400 guests and powered by Liquefied Natural Gas to enhance environmental sustainability.
Carnival revealed that the Festivale will include two music-themed zones on Decks 6, 7, and 8, along with an expansive outdoor zone named Sunsation Point featuring new activities and extended evening events.
Additional features of the ship will include a new outdoor water park with six slides, family raft rides, a treehouse-inspired adventure trail, and new dining options such as Guy’s Burger Joint and Pig & Anchor Smokehouse Brewhouse.
Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line, shared, “The steel being cut for our next new ship is music to my ears, which is in tune with many of the themed experiences the Carnival Festivale will bring to our guests.”
