Stena Line says the Stena Vision will be withdrawn from its Rosslare-Cherbourg route at the end of October although Stena Horizon will continue to serve the route.
The ferry, which featured 1,300 capacity with amenities such as passenger cabins, bars, restaurants, and a spa, was underutilised, not meeting the required demand for both freight and passenger services.
Stena Line will continue to offer a three-day week service for freight and passengers on the Stena Horizon and plans to deploy additional support vessels during peak demand periods.
The company stated there will be no job losses at the ports due to this decision, and efforts will be made to absorb the crew into other roles within the company, while customers are being informed of alternative travel arrangements.
