Travel reservations to Spain are surging in early 2026, with hotels, airlines, and agencies forecasting a stronger first quarter than 2025 and no signs of slowdown, positioning the country to exceed 100m foreign tourists this year.
Online agency Destinia reports increased bookings from Spaniards and key markets like England, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, and Portugal, while chains like Riu and Meliá note similar or improved figures in stays and rates, despite average room prices at 170 euros per night. Airlines project a record 139m seats for the winter season (up 4.7pc), anticipating over 300m passengers in 2025 with growth slowing to 4pc. Exotic destinations like Senegal and Mauritius see 30pc and 16pc sales rises among nationals. In the Valencian Community, 85pc of hotel capacity remains open in winter, combating seasonality and supporting employment.
Tourism leaders warn that geopolitical risks remain a concern, but optimism prevails for sustained demand.
