
The Sun Princess Princess Cruises’ next-generation cruise ship, is set to launch on February 8, 2024. With 21 decks, it will be the largest ship in the Princess fleet and will be the first of two Sphere-class vessels.
The new Sun Princess will feature new suite accommodations, including the Signature Collection, offering exclusive access to the Signature Restaurant, Lounge, and Sun Deck.
It will have a total of 2,157 cabins, including 50 suites and 100 connecting rooms, with more outdoor balcony space than any other ship in the fleet.

Sun Princess will introduce the Reserve Collection suites, which feature mini suites. The Reserve Collection Cabana cabins will have exclusive access to a private sundeck and additional veranda space.
The ship will feature the Park19 Activity Zone on its top decks, offering nine outdoor family-friendly activities, including Sea Breeze, the first rollglider at sea. It will also have dedicated areas for younger kids, tweens, and teenagers.
Sun Princess will feature popular dining venues such as Crown Grill, Sabatinis, and Crooners Bar, as well as new additions like Umai Teppanyaki, The Catch by Rudi, and O’Malley’s Irish Pub.
Notable entertainment spaces on the ship include The Dome, a glass-enclosed area used as an indoor/outdoor pool during the day and an entertainment space at night. The Piazza, a three-deck central European-style area, will feature live performances on a rising platform.
This will be the third ship in the Princess fleet to carry the Sun Princess name, with the previous one entering service in 1995.
Sun Princess is the first ship in the Sphere-class. They will be the largest ships ever constructed for the company. The second ship is set to be completed in 2025 and will become the largest ship ever built in Italy.
These ships will be fuelled by liquefied natural gas (LNG), marking a significant step towards sustainability for Princess Cruises.
Sun Princess incorporates sustainable technology as part of Carnival Corporation’s “green cruising” initiative, with LNG as its clean marine fuel. It will also be the first cruise ship built to meet the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design.The maiden voyage of the Sun Princess is a 10-night Grand Mediterranean itinerary starting on February 28, 2024. It will then offer Caribbean voyages from Port Everglades, Florida, in the autumn.
