
SunStone Maritime Group has delivered the Douglas Mawson, the seventh and final vessel in its first series of newbuilds, at China Merchants Heavy Industry on 9 September.
The vessel, named after the Australian geologist and Antarctic explorer Sir Douglas Mawson, is the third Infinity ship for Aurora Expeditions.
Collaboration on the ship included designers and contractors from Norway, Sweden, Finland, and China, showcasing international expertise in its construction.
The Douglas Mawson measures 104.40 meters in length and has a passenger capacity of 170, supported by a crew of 102, and meets Ice Class 1A and Polar Class 6 certifications.
The luxury ship is equipped with amenities such as a swimming pool, bar, restaurants, lounges, a boutique, gym, spa, and sauna.
Carsten Lund shared, “We are very pleased with the performance of our Infinity Class, and we are proud to have now delivered seven of these beautiful vessels.”
