Food services specialists Sysco have officially opened their Limerick hub in a ceremony by Minister Patrick O’Donovan following a €2.6m refurbishment aimed at modernising the facility.
The two-year upgrade included the creation of contemporary office spaces, a state-of-the-art development kitchen, and expanded warehouse, canteen, and gym facilities, aligning with sustainability goals.
Following a successful recruitment drive in late 2023, more than 400 employees are currently working at the Limerick site across various roles, including contact centre, warehousing, IT, and procurement.
Minister O’Donovan emphasized Sysco’s role as a key employer in the region: “It’s an honour to be here to officially open these new facilities. Sysco is an important and valued employer in this region, it sustains families and communities far beyond these walls in so many different ways. The government recognises and supports the continued development and ambition of the Midwest, to be a destination for enterprise and entrepreneurship and to attract more high skilled, well paid jobs.”
