Taipei’s China Airlines to add five Airbus A350-900

China Airlines is adding five Airbus A350-900 long-haul aircraft to its fleet, increasing its backlog to 20 of the type.

The 15 current A350-900s will undergo a $400m cabin overhaul with Airbus and Recaro Aircraft Seating.

The Taipei-based carrier confirmed the addition of eight A321neos, bringing its total A321neo fleet to 36 aircraft.

CAL has 24 Boeing 787 Dreamliners and 10 Boeing 777X aircraft on order, illustrating growth in its long-haul capabilities.

The report shared. “Last month, CAL posted a record net profit of more than $160m for the first quarter ended 31 March 2025,”
