Air Canada warns it will take some time to clear the backlog as its flights will resume this evening, gradually increasing operations over the next few days.
AC800 is scheduled to depart Toronto for Dublin this evening and its return AC801@09.50 tomorrow from Dublin to Toronto. Vancouver AC919@09.20 and inbound AC918 have both been cancelled.
Travel arrangements can be altered for free for flights between August 15 and 22. A full refund can be requested for unused tickets purchased on or before August 15, 2025.
Non-refundable fare holders can receive a credit for the unused portion of their ticket.
Under Canadian regulations, passengers are not entitled to compensation for flights affected by disruptions beyond the carrier’s control.
A written Air Canada statement shared, “Our flights will restart this evening with a gradual ramp up over the coming days. While the restart of our operations will begin immediately, we expect it will take several days before our operations return to normal. Please do not head to the airport unless you have a confirmed itinerary Due to the volume of flight cancellations, we are also providing a full refund upon request for the unused portion of tickets purchased on or before August 15, 2025. Air Canada statement shared, “In all cases, we’ll inform passengers of their rights under applicable rules if their flight is cancelled or delayed to meet our regulatory obligations.”
