Three new cruise ship orders in February bring the world wide order book of to 54 ocean-going cruise ships are set to debut between now and 2028.

Recent deliveries include the Sun Princess for Carnival Corporation’s Princess Cruises, with attention now on the upcoming deliveries of Mein Schiff 7 for TUI Cruises and Queen Anne for Cunard Line.

Mein Schiff 7 will cater to the German-speaking cruise market, while Queen Anne is the first newbuild for Cunard Line in over a decade, joining the Queen Mary 2, Queen Elizabeth, and Queen Victoria in the fleet and visiting Belfast on her debut cruise.

Other new ships set to debut include the Silver Nova for Silversea and the Utopia of the Seas for short cruises out of Port Canaveral. Recent ship orders were also announced for Carnival Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean, and Antarctica21. The total investment in new ships exceeds $35bn, with ships averaging 2,165 guests each. The order book is led by Royal Caribbean:

  • Mein Schiff 7 (TUI Cruises) – Scheduled to debut in June 2024, this 110,000-ton vessel will join TUI Cruises’ fleet, offering a capacity of 2,900 passengers, and is currently being constructed at Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland.
  • Utopia of the Seas (Royal Caribbean International) – Set for a July 2024 debut, this 231,000-ton ship by Royal Caribbean International will have a capacity of 5,714 passengers and will offer short cruises to the Bahamas from Port Canaveral, built at Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in France.
  • Silver Ray (Silversea Cruises) – Debuting in August 2024, the 54,700-ton Silver Ray by Silversea Cruises will offer luxury LNG-powered itineraries in the Mediterranean and Greek Isles, following the success of the Silver Nova, and built at Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany.
  • Mein Schiff Relax (TUI Cruises) – Joining TUI Cruises in March 2025, the Mein Schiff Relax will become the largest in the fleet with a capacity of 4,000 passengers, a tonnage of 161,000, and construction taking place at Fincantieri shipyard in Italy.
  • Star of the Seas (Royal Caribbean International) – Designed as a sister ship to the Icon of the Seas, this 250,800-ton vessel by Royal Caribbean is under construction at Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland with plans to sail from Port Canaveral to the Caribbean starting in August 2025.
