Tipperary County Council is purchasing DW Parke’s Chemists and Opticians in Gladstone Street in Clonmel to preserve it as a museum for future generations

The building, a local landmark for over 150 years, has a classic wood and gold façade and has been idle for about 20 years

Clonmel Borough District is in negotiations with the owners, the Loughmans, to conserve and transform the building into a museum for visitors

Former Mayor of Clonmel, Cllr Richie Molloy, has been advocating for the preservation of the iconic shop front, which is considered a treasure trove evoking another era, and could attract tourism to the town.
