Tripadvisor is shutting down its Tripadvisor Plus subscription service after less than three years. The service was launched in 2021 with a $99 annual membership fee for discounted rates and perks for hotel and car rental bookings
The company cited a better understanding of community preferences for benefits and rewards as a reason for closing Tripadvisor Plus
The service had recently transitioned to a cashback model and a strategic review by CEO Matt Goldberg led to the decision to shut it down.
