TUI Cruises cancelled upcoming sailings in Europe on Mein Schiff 5 due to conflicts in the Middle East. The ship remains in the Arabian Gulf so the 17 April and 24 April 2026 cruises no longer proceed. The first cruise was set to depart from Palma de Mallorca in Spain before heading to Heraklion in Greece.
The seven night itinerary included visits to Palermo in Italy Valletta in Malta Piraeus and Chania in Greece. The second cruise sailed round trip from Heraklion to Mykonos Chania Piraeus and Istanbul in Turkey. TUI informed all affected passengers through customer service teams.
The decision follows travel and safety advice from the German Foreign Office for the Arabian Gulf. TUI crisis management team works with authorities embassies and security experts on the situation. The company studies scenarios to return the ships to regular itineraries.
