United Airlines has  launched Starlink Wi-Fi on a Boeing 737-800 flight from Newark to Houston.

Starlink offers download speeds over 200 Mbps, enabling streaming, gaming, and video calls. The service is free for MileagePlus members across multiple devices, with notifications for equipped flights.

United plans to retrofit 15 mainline 737-800s monthly, with fleetwide coverage expected by 2026. FAA approval in September 2025 certified Starlink’s safety for United’s 737-800s.

David Kinzelman shared, “Whether it’s catching a live game, streaming an award show, or working, United customers won’t miss a beat when they’re onboard a Starlink-equipped flight.”

Grant Milstead shared, “Our first Starlink-equipped mainline aircraft will bring a superior in-flight experience to even more people.”

Richard Nunn shared, “What the Starlink connectivity allows us to do in real time, because of the latency and the low-earth-orbit satellite technology means that we can make real-time, less than 100-millisecond ad decisions to serve up in a hyper-personalised world.”
