The Venezuelan government announced the suspension of all commercial flights from Venezuela to Panama and the Dominican Republic in retaliation for the refusal of these countries to recognise the result of Venezuela’s presidential election.
Copa Airlines, which currently operates flights between Panama City and various Venezuelan cities, offered alternatives for travellers affected by the suspension.
Panama also imposed an embargo on general aviation aircraft with Venezuelan registrations entering Panamanian territory until proper mechanisms for landing permits are established.
Airlines operating flights between Venezuela and the Dominican Republic, such as Rutaca Airlines, Laser Airlines, Avior Airlines, Venezolana, and Turpial Airlines, have not publicly addressed Venezuela’s decision, except for SKYhigh Dominicana and Laser Airlines, which announced ticket rescheduling options for flights after July 31.
