Viking floats out 82-passenger Viking Amun in Cairo

Viking has celebrated the float out of the 82-passenger Viking Amun at Massara shipyard in Cairo, completing a major construction phase.

Set to sail in September 2025, the Viking Amun will operate the 12-day “Pharaohs and Pyramids” itinerary, enriching the cruise experience in Egypt.

The ship features 41 staterooms and includes an indoor/outdoor Aquavit Terrace, designed for guest comfort and enjoyment along the Nile.

Torstein Hagen shared that Viking considers their vessels as the most elegant on the Nile and expressed excitement about welcoming more travellers to Egypt.

Viking aims to introduce five new ships in Egypt within the next two years, expanding their fleet to twelve vessels by 2027.

Torstein Hagen shared, “We are very proud of our growing fleet in Egypt, which we consider to be by far the most elegant vessels on the Nile.” Hagen also mentioned, “Egypt is one of the world’s most captivating destinations, and we look forward to introducing even more curious travelers to this extraordinary region in the coming years.”
