Viking Vesta was officially named in a ceremonial event held in Split, Croatia over the weekend.
The ship was recently delivered from Fincantieri and will sail in the Mediterranean and Northern Europe during its inaugural season.
Lene Tangevald-Jensen, a Norwegian journalist, served as the ceremonial godmother of Viking Vesta.
Torstein Hagen, Chairman and CEO of Viking, expressed gratitude towards Lene for embodying the company’s values.
The naming ceremony included traditional elements, such as using a Viking broad axe to cut a ribbon and breaking a bottle of Norwegian aquavit on the ship’s hull.
